A harsh forecast has been made regarding the future of Lewis Hamilton, the Italian Ferrari team's driver in Formula 1.
Idman.Biz reports that former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher said that the seven-time world champion will not be able to gain an advantage in the long-term fight against his teammate Charles Leclerc. He voiced these thoughts on Sky Sports Germany.
Although Schumacher admits that Hamilton is in better shape this season, he thinks that the age factor will play a decisive role:
"I have to be honest, Hamilton is in better shape this year, there is no doubt about that. But it must be admitted that he has no chance against Leclerc throughout the year and in the long term. That's the reality."
The German expert said that, along with Hamilton, it would be more correct for Fernando Alonso to leave the cockpit at the end of the season. In his opinion, both veteran pilots have had a great time in Formula 1, but it is time to give way to young drivers.
Schumacher mentioned Oliver Berman as a potential candidate for Ferrari. He emphasized that if the British pilot gets a chance, he will be able to create serious competition for Leclerc.
