Peter Windsor, the former manager of the "Williams" and "Ferrari" teams, criticized the current "Formula-1" points system, claiming that the world championship title is not always given to the strongest pilot.
According to Idman.Biz, he believes that the world championship title has become more of a marketing tool than a measure of skill.
Windsor called the points system absurd and cited the legendary Stirling Moss, who claimed that the race is about winning, not scoring points.
"Stirling Moss, you were absolutely right! Lando Norris could have won the title with points, but who won more races? Max Verstappen. Who took more pole positions? Max Verstappen," Peter told GPFans.
He emphasized that Norris does not have Verstappen's versatility in all weather conditions, especially in the rain, and compared him to former champions such as Mike Hawthorn and Keke Rosberg, who also lost in the rain.
Windsor urged fans to appeal to rights holders Liberty Media and the FIA to renounce the world championship title if they disagree with the system.
