Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has been awarded a special prize by Pirelli for his pole record in the 2025 season.
İdman.Biz reports that the four-time Formula 1 world champion was presented with a large decorative tire as the driver with the most poles after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying race.
Verstappen also showed the best time in the qualifying round held at the Yas Marina track.
This result was his eighth pole of the current season. His closest follower Lando Norris (McLaren) has 7, and the Briton's teammate Oscar Piastri has 6 poles. George Russell (Mercedes) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) each have one pole this season.
In the Abu Dhabi qualifying race, Verstappen completed the lap with a time of 1:22.207. Norris was 0.201 seconds behind him in second place, and Piastri was third. George Russell will also start the race from the second row.
This special tire presented to Verstappen is considered a symbol of his clear dominance in the Saturday qualifying runs of the 2025 season.
