FIA presidential candidate Laura Villars is suing the organization.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to PlanetF1.
It should be reminded that due to procedural restrictions, the elections scheduled for December 12 will be uncontested. The only candidate for the post is the current FIA president, Mohammed bin Sulayem. None of the candidates was able to form a team in accordance with the Federation's rules.
Villars is demanding the suspension of the elections. A hearing in the Paris court will take place on November 10.
"This procedure aims to ensure that the upcoming FIA presidential elections comply with the organization's charter and fundamental democratic principles. This is not a hostile or political move. This is an initiative aimed at protecting transparency, ethics and pluralism in the management of global motorsport. I am not acting against the FIA; I am acting to protect the organization. Democracy is the strength of the FIA, not a threat to the Federation," Villars emphasized.
