British Mercedes driver George Russell missed today's press conference before the start of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1 due to health problems.
Report reports that the team's press service released information without giving details about the reasons for the concern.
"Unfortunately, George will not be on the track today. Because he feels unwell and is resting before tomorrow's races," the statement said.
He was replaced by his teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli at the FIA press conference.
The Mercedes team hopes that the health of 27-year-old G. Russell will improve and he will be able to successfully represent the team in the race.
Currently, G. Russell is 4th in the Formula 1 drivers' ranking, and Mercedes is 3rd in the Constructors' Cup.
If the British driver cannot participate in the races, he will be replaced by Mercedes' third driver, Valtteri Bottas. The pilot has already signed a contract with Cadillac for 2026.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held between September 19-21.
