Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was first in yesterday's qualifying round. Carlos Sainz from Williams took second place, and Liam Lawson from Racing Bulls took third place. Andre Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes was fourth, and his teammate George Russell was fifth.
The Baku track, consisting of 20 turns and 51 laps, covers a total distance of 306.049 km. The first race in the capital took place in 2016 as the European Grand Prix. The subsequent eight tournaments were called the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

In 2023, Perez won in Baku for the second time. In 2024, Oscar Piastri from McLaren outpaced all his rivals. In 2020, the race was not held in our capital due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri is the leader with 324 points. His teammate Lando Norris (293 points) is second, and Max Verstappen (230 points) from Red Bull is third.
In the Constructors' Cup, McLaren is the leader with 617 points. Ferrari is second (280 points), and Mercedes (260 points) is third.
