The Azerbaijan Grand Prix of "Formula 1" will start today.

The Baku track, consisting of 20 turns and 51 laps, covers a total distance of 306.049 km. The first race in the capital took place in 2016 as the European Grand Prix. The next seven tournaments were called the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
In 2016, German Nico Rosberg finished the race the fastest. In the following years, Daniel Ricciardo (Australia), Lewis Hamilton (Great Britain), Valtteri Bottas (Finland), Sergio Perez (Mexico) and Max Verstappen (Netherlands) finished the track in the first place, respectively. In 2023, Perez won in Baku for the second time. In 2024, Oskar Piastri from "McLaren" surpassed all his rivals. In 2020, the race was not organized in our capital due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, "McLaren" pilot Oskar Piastri is the leader with 324 points. His teammate Lando Norris (293 points) is second, and Max Verstappen (230 points) from "Red Bull" is third.
In the Constructors' Cup, "McLaren" is the leader with 617 points. "Ferrari" is second (280 points) and "Mercedes" (260 points) is third.
