The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has warned drivers and teams about excessively high temperatures at the "Formula 1" United States Grand Prix.
Idman.Biz reports that the race will be held in Austin from October 17 to 19.
"In accordance with Article 26.19 of the Sporting Regulations, a heat warning is issued at this event following the receipt of a forecast from the official Meteorology service that the temperature is predicted to exceed 31°C at any point during the sprint or race," the statement said.
According to the regulations, once such a warning has been issued, drivers and teams have the option of wearing special cooling vests, or installing a 0.5 kg ballast if they decline the vests.
The vest idea gained momentum after the 2023 Singapore race, which resulted in many drivers seeking medical attention.
