"No major technical updates are planned for Formula 1 before the summer break."
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by Fernando Alonso, the driver of the "Aston Martin" team.
The two-time world champion commented on the situation after finishing 15th in the Miami Grand Prix and admitted that the upcoming races will be difficult for the team:
"Overall, everything went normally. This is our speed. We are in a difficult situation, but this is the first time this year that we managed to finish with two cars. There is some progress in terms of reliability and vibration. There are also positive aspects."
He emphasized that "Aston Martin" is currently at the back of the standings and the main focus should be on the future development of the car:
"The next races will be difficult. The situation will not change, because we will still be at the end of the peloton. We will bring more innovations after the summer break, but there will be no major changes before that. As a team, we must be patient and wait for the second half of the season. We have focused all our efforts on that stage."
The pilot added that "Aston Martin" starting the race with soft tires was also a test:
"I didn't see which tires the other teams started with. We weren't fighting for points anyway, this race was a test for us."
