The contract for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula 1 is being extended.
The Baku City Operations Company informed Report about this.
According to the new agreement, the race in our country will continue until 2030.
"Formula 1" President Stefano Domenicali said that Baku has incredible energy:
"We have always seen a sincere and enthusiastic welcome from Azerbaijan since our first Grand Prix here in 2016. The track is unique - it has both technical parts and long straights that pass through the magnificent coastline and the historic city center, and it offers an event-rich, entertaining race every year. This innovation reflects the strong trust and commitment between "Formula 1", the Azerbaijani government and the promoter, paving the way for an exciting future in the country."
Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said that the extension of the partnership with "Formula 1" reflects the vision and direction of the Azerbaijani leadership:
"This ensures that our country remains a global center for major sporting events, leaving an inspiring legacy for future generations through the power of sports. Over the years, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has become one of the most anticipated races on the "Formula 1" calendar, not only showing an exciting fight on the track, but also the beauty, energy and hospitality of our capital. This extension confirms our commitment to hosting world-class events and further strengthens Azerbaijan's position in the international arena. Together, we will continue to present Baku as a vibrant, world-class sports venue, inviting fans from all over the world to experience both the excitement of "Formula 1" and the unique spirit of our city and country."
It should be noted that "Formula 1" races have been held in Baku since 2016.
