After a tense weekend in Baku, Formula 1 drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc encountered an unexpected adventure on their way home.
According to Idman.biz, their plane could not land in Nice due to a storm and was forced to land in Italy. As a result, the drivers rented a minivan and drove to Monaco.
"After a very difficult weekend in Baku, I thought things couldn't get any worse. But Carlos took us somewhere we didn't know!", Leclerc shared humorously on social media.
Sainz said they had to go through Italy, but promised to respect the speed limit.
The Spaniard, now racing for Williams, left Baku in high spirits - he made it to the podium, a rare success for the British team. Leclerc had a less successful weekend: a crash in qualifying and technical problems relegated him to 9th place.
