According to RacingNews365, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in conjunction with Mexican authorities, conducted a raid that resulted in the seizure of a private collection of MotoGP racing motorcycles, including unique examples belonging to Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, and Marc Marquez.
Idman.Biz reports that the collection, valued at approximately $40 million, belonged to former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding, who competed for Canada in the 2002 Salt Lake City Games and is currently wanted by the FBI on charges of international drug trafficking and orchestrating multiple murders.
Searches of several properties in Mexico linked to Wedding led to the seizure of approximately 62 motorcycles, including a "Ducati MotoGP" owned by Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso, two Valentino Rossi from the 2011-2012 seasons, and a "Moto2" motorcycle from Marc Marquez's early career. Other rare "Honda" and "Kawasaki" motorcycles were also found.
A rare 2002 "Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR" worth $13 million, narcotics, ammunition, and other luxury items, possibly including Olympic medals, had previously been seized from the criminal group. The FBI and the US State Department are offering a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to the arrest of Wedding, who is considered armed and dangerous.
