Ukrainian national team member Ilya Zabarnyi spoke about the upcoming matches against France and Azerbaijan in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round.
Idman.biz, citing Sportinfo.az, reports that the defender, who moved from Bournemouth (England) to PSG (France) last month, said that the game against both opponents will be difficult:
"I am looking forward to these games. These meetings are very important for us and, I think, for all of Ukraine.
Therefore, I believe that we will prepare well. France is strong, but it is possible to play.
Also, our second game will be away against Azerbaijan. This will also be difficult, they are not an easy opponent. We need to score points now so that we don't leave everything to the last game."
The Ukrainian national team will host France on September 5. The team will be hosted by the Azerbaijani national team on September 9.
