After the match of the XXX round of the Misli Premier League "Karvan-Yevlakh" - "Neftchi" (0:3), the head coach of the visiting team, Yuri Vernydub, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the expert first shared his thoughts on the meeting:
– After the second game with "Garabagh", the children showed great emotions. I was very worried about this game. As a coaching staff, we were able to cope with it. I am also grateful to the players.
– "Neftchi"'s issue of qualifying for European Cups will be determined in the arena where you hold your home games. What are your expectations from that game - the cup final?
– There are three games ahead and these are finals for us. All football players understand that we must show the maximum result in every match. A lot will depend on the cup final. Who will win the title? Time will tell. Our own games are also important. We will continue our fight until the end.
– What did you give Falaye Sacko that he played one of the best games of the season?
– I thank him, he is a professional football player. He must show his level not in one game, but in all matches. He also played in the French championship and has good experience. What can I say to him? Well done!
– You have come a long way as a coach. You faced death during the war. But after the last game, you said that you were very excited. Was it because of the match, or was there another reason?
– There was no other reason. Just the 1:5 defeat was devastating for me. After this defeat, I couldn't find words. Therefore, we performed differently in the second game. After the victory, the emotions were different. That's why I decided not to answer questions. It is an honor to work in a team with a history like "Neftchi". By working in the club, I have great respect for the players, fans, and management. The players must also realize the advantage of being in "Neftchi". They should always play professionally to be worthy of this club.
– Are your plans ready for transfer issues?
– I haven't talked about transfers. Whoever mentions the name of any player, let him talk about it himself. When the time comes, I will say everything myself. They write that I had a conflict with some football player, but this is not true. We will be very careful in transfer matters.
– Is the reason why "Neftchi" is out of the "top three" the points lost at the beginning of the season, or referee decisions?
– I don't want to comment on this. The team had lost a lot of points even before me. Draws in games with "Turan Tovuz", "Zira", "Shamakhi", "Sumgayit" also happened in my time. We are trying to get the maximum result in every game. We have achieved positive changes in the team. My biggest dream is for "Neftchi" to be in the places it deserves.
– Will you watch the cup final from the stadium and support "Sabah"?
– I don't know exactly. It would not be right for me to support "Sabah" or "Zira". May the strongest win. It is true that "Sabah"'s victory is more suitable for us, but I cannot wish anything bad to any of our competitors. Life is a boomerang.
