The champion of the First League has been determined. Sport24.az reports that "Shafa" secured the 1st place with 1 round remaining until the end of the season.
The capital's representative achieved this in the XXVI round. "Shafa" defeated "Jabrayil" in its own field - 1:. With this, the Baku club, which increased the number of points to 57, became unreachable for its followers. With this, "Shafa" secured gold medals and a ticket to the Premier League.
Being the winner of the First League for the first time, "Shafa" is the 27th team to experience championship in the tournament, which previously bore the names of the First Division and I Division. Until now, 26 clubs have achieved such success. "Araz Nakhchivan", MOIK, "Neftchala", "Garadagh Lokbatan", "Gabala" and "Turan Tovuz" have two gold medals, and other teams have one.
It should be noted that in the 1993/94 season, the final between the winners of the two groups did not take place. Both teams that rose to the top division were considered the winners of the league. No competition was held in the 1997/98, 1998/99, 2002/03 seasons.
