The "Schoolgirls" tournament, organized in cooperation with AFFA and the Ministry of Science and Education, with the support of UEFA, has come to an end.

It was reported that at secondary school No. 59, schools No. 55 of Baku and No. 5 of Lankaran first met in the game for third place. Then, in the final match, the team of secondary school No. 220 of Baku and the team of secondary school No. 1 of Lankaran faced each other.
Secondary school No. 220 became the winner of the tournament. The second and third places were taken by the teams of secondary school No. 1 and secondary school No. 55, respectively. The top three were awarded diplomas and medals, and the winner was awarded a cup.
The awards were presented by Zumrud Agayeva, head of the AFFA Women's Football Department, technical director Emrah Aykurt, Ramazan Samadov, AFFA's responsible person for relations with state institutions, Khanim Hasanova, employee of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education (MÜTDA), and Sevda Ramazanova, employee of the Baku City Education Department.
It should be noted that the "Schoolgirls" tournament is a pilot project for girls aged 7-9. Initially, this season the project was implemented in 2 regions - in 20 selected public and private schools in Baku, as well as in 10 schools in Lankaran. The main goal of organizing the tournament is to create interest in football among girls from an early age by creating the AFFA U-10 Girls League next season and to attract new football players to the national teams in the lower age group in the future.
