It was reported that the Baku club is the first team in the last nine seasons to lift the cup twice in a row.
The last time this was achieved was by "Qarabağ". The Aghdam club retained its title twice in a row at that time, winning the cup for three seasons (2014/2015, 2015/2016, 2016/2017).
Three more teams have won the tournament twice in a row. "Neftchi", which achieved this twice, first did it in the 1994/1995, 1995/1996 seasons, and then in the 2012/2013, 2013/2014 seasons. Kapaz" (1996/1997, 1997/1998) and "Khazar Lankaran" (2006/2007, 2007/2008) also achieved the same success.
