Rustam Mammadov: "Defeats can become a habit in the team"

"We didn't lose to "Sabail" in the game plan. Due to our physical condition, we tried to play more defensively in the first half." These words were said by the head coach of "Zaqatala" Rustam Mammadov in his statement to Sport24.az.

The young specialist commented on the game in which his team lost to "Sabail" in the 25th round of the First League on their home field:

"We wanted to save our strength for counterattacks. In the second half, we saw that the opponent was tired and attacked. The 3 goals we conceded were the result of our own mistakes. We currently have some difficulties. There are many injured players in the squad. One of the main reasons for losing 5 rounds in a row is the decrease in motivation among the players. Although the financial problems that arose in winter were later resolved, this situation negatively affected the players. Our team is now fighting more to protect its place in the First League. It is difficult to get the players focused on the match when they cannot play for high places in the tournament table. We did not perform like this in the first round, but something changed later. The fact that the players cannot fully focus on the game also affects the results. Defeats can become a habit in the team over time. Although this is not a good thing, it is one of the cases encountered in football."

It should be noted that the "Zaqatala" - "Sabail" match ended with a 0:3 defeat of the home team.
