AFFA President Rovshan Najaf expressed his views on the report released by the organization regarding the licensing of clubs. Sport24.az reports that the head of the federation stated that the licensing process also plays a special role in the development of Azerbaijani club football:
"Each UEFA Member Association has started implementing a licensing system for participation in UEFA club competitions since the 2004-2005 season, and this process plays an important role in the activities of clubs. The licensing system sets the same requirements for clubs participating in UEFA competitions, ensuring equality and impartiality in application. Like in other associations, the licensing process also plays a special role in the development of Azerbaijani club football. The licensing process supports increasing the number of youth teams within the clubs applying for a license, improving infrastructure levels, the qualifications of employees and coaches, as well as ensuring a certain stability and sustainability in financial matters. The licensing process is one of the most important factors for clubs. Clubs should take a responsible approach to their responsibilities in this matter and it should be taken into account that the licensing process plays a special role in the development and stable operation of clubs. By highly appreciating the work done, I would like to state that the correct application of the licensing system will have a positive impact on the development of our football".
