FIFA has announced a number of innovations that will be implemented during the Club World Cup in 2025.
Idman.biz reports that the tournament will be held in the USA and will start on June 14.
During the Mundial, referees will wear video cameras on their bodies that record the progress of the match. The footage will be made available to the tournament's official broadcaster and used in live broadcasts. If the footage from the referees' point of view is successful, this innovation will be applied to all major international tournaments.
In addition, fans will be able to watch live on stadium monitors what the referee sees at the moment he is watching an episode on the field. These images will be broadcast directly on huge screens, which will make it easier for fans to understand how decisions are made and increase the transparency of referee activity.
As previously reported, modern semi-automatic offside technology will also be implemented, sending audible signals to assistant referees in clear offside situations.
Another innovation is the use of tablets for substitutions. These tablets will replace traditional paper documents and manual data transmission. Before the game, each team will be given a tablet to manage substitution requests in digital format, which should simplify and speed up the substitution process.
