They also confiscated a banner from a spectator that read "Florentino is guilty." Perez himself was also dissatisfied and argued with the fans in his own stadium.
Fans also booed the Madrid team's bus as it approached the "Santiago Bernabeu" and striker Kilian Mbappe when the team's lineup was announced in the stadium.
Perez had previously announced early elections for a new club president in the 2025/26 season against the backdrop of the team's mixed results, but refused to resign. Meanwhile, the 79-year-old Spaniard also intends to participate in the elections. His term expires in 2029.
