After the "Sabah" - "Zira" match (2:1) in the final of the Azerbaijan Cup, the head coach of the guest team, Rashad Sadygov, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the specialist first shared his thoughts on the meeting:
– The game started well for us, we scored a goal. Somewhere, we defended reliably for 30-35 minutes. At the end of the first half, we gave the opponent two chances. In one, the ball hit the post, in the other, Silva performed well. We also had counterattacks, we could have scored the second goal. After the break, we made some changes and started playing more reliably. The opponent scored a fantastic goal, then we became more active. We also conceded the second goal from a counterattack. I thank my players for their confident game. We played against a strong opponent. I think the goals scored are the answer to many questions. This shows the strength of the opponent.
– To what extent did Qismət Aliyev's early yellow card affect the game?
– I haven't seen that episode, I don't want to comment on it. I don't intend to talk about refereeing. I congratulate the opponent, they had a good chance to make a "golden double" and they took advantage of it.
– How will the result psychologically affect the players? Your fight for fourth place continues...
– We will fight to the end. We understand that "Neftchi" is ahead of us. Even if we win, they must also lose points.
– You lost your third final. Could you have achieved a different result with a stronger team?
– It is impossible to predict. In all three finals, if some things had gone better, we could have won the cup. There are similarities between the matches. Every result is an experience for us. We have been prize winners in 6 out of 12 competitions. I think we have achieved good things in six years. I am proud of the players, the management and the fans. We need more to win titles.
