Okan Buruk, the head coach of the Turkish football team Galatasaray, strongly reacted to the punishment imposed by UEFA on the "yellow-red" fans in his statement before the second leg of the Champions League's round of 16 against Liverpool.
İdman.Biz reports that Buruk called it unacceptable to give the sector allocated for fans to the opposing team.
"This punishment is not fair. It is not right to give the tribune belonging to Galatasaray fans to Liverpool. Innocent people are punished for the mistakes of others. This decision is neither right nor correct. We will play for our fans who support us regardless of where we are," said the head coach.
Speaking about the opponent, the head coach stated that he is confident in his team's physical preparation:
"We have played two games against Liverpool so far and have demonstrated the necessary athleticism in both. They are very strong physically, but we are ready for this fight too. Although we have an important loss like Davinson Sanches in our squad, we have ready players to replace him."
Okan Buruk emphasized that his goal is the next stage:
"My only dream is to pass the tour. Although we have defeated the opponent twice in our field, we must now consider the away factor. I believe in my players, this night can be a historical moment for Turkish football."
It should be noted that Galatasaray's match against Liverpool will start tonight at 23:59 Baku time.
