Former head coach of the Romanian national team, Mircea Lucescu, has died at the age of 80.

"Tragic news. Mircea Lucescu passed away 15 minutes ago.
He left behind an entire universe. May God rest his soul. Less than two weeks ago, despite his illness, he led the Romanian national team against Turkey in the World Cup qualifying play-off match," Roşu wrote.

According to the latest information from doctors, the planned ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) surgery will not take place because Lucescu's body is too weak to withstand such a complex procedure.
The expert was hospitalized after his condition worsened during the Romanian national team's training. He was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction, and his condition worsened on Sunday, April 5, and Lucescu was placed in an induced coma.
