The annual salary of famous Argentine striker Lionel Messi at Inter Miami has reached $25 million. He is currently the highest-paid player in MLS.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that according to the press service of the MLS Players Association, Messi will earn $25 million as a base salary under his new contract in 2026.
His guaranteed salary for this season is $28,333,333. The Florida club's payroll fund is $54.6 million, which is $20 million more than Los Angeles, the second-highest-paid team.
The lowest player salary in MLS is in Philadelphia ($11.7 million).
Messi signed his first contract with Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. At that time, his base salary was 12 million, and his annual guaranteed compensation was 20.5 million.
