Italian football expert Enzo Maresca has reached a verbal agreement with English football club "Manchester City".
Idman.Biz reports that this was announced by well-known insider Fabrizio Romano.
According to his post, Maresca has long been considered an ideal candidate to replace Pep Guardiola. An agreement has already been reached between the parties, and the Italian expert will initially sign a three-year contract with "Manchester City".
The insider presented the news with his signature "Here we go!" expression. This means that the transfer has been largely agreed upon.
Maresca is considered one of the coaches who is well versed in the "Manchester City" system. He was appointed head coach of the club's Elite Development Team in August 2020 and won the "Premier League 2" title in the only season he spent in this position.
The Italian expert returned to "Manchester City" again in June 2022. He became one of Pep Guardiola's assistants, replacing Juanma Lillo, who went to the Qatari club "Al-Sadd" as head coach.
Guardiola's influence occupies a special place in Maresca's coaching philosophy. His tactical approach is based on ball control, positional play and phased attack construction. From this point of view, the Italian expert is considered a suitable candidate for "Manchester City's" game model.
