"Manchester United" is not counting on goalkeeper Andre Onana in the next season. This was reported by the "Mail" publication, according to Sport24.az.
According to the source, the 30-year-old goalkeeper, who currently plays for "Trabzonspor" on loan, was planning to fight for a place in the main squad of the "Red Devils" next season. However, "United" is considering parting ways with the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
However, due to the high salary, "Manchester United" is having difficulty selling Onana. The high salary of the Cameroonian football player deters many potential candidates. Last season, the "Red Devils" failed to qualify for European competitions, and the goalkeeper's salary was reduced. This allowed the loan agreement to continue. Now "United" has qualified for the Champions League, which will further increase the goalkeeper's salary.
It should be noted that Onana has played 32 matches in all tournaments for "Trabzonspor" this season, conceded 39 goals and kept a clean sheet in 6 matches.
