French club "Lyon" may face serious sanctions from UEFA next season.
According to Idman.Biz, citing "The Telegraph", the organization believes that the club has not complied with the terms of the Financial Fair Play agreement signed last summer.
Violation of financial obligations threatens the team's participation in international competitions, regardless of current sporting achievements. If the disqualification comes into force, the vacant European spot will be given to another French club.
"Marseille" and "Rennes" are the main candidates for this place. These teams will have the opportunity to represent France on the continental stage instead of "Lyon".
After 33 Ligue 1 games, "Lyon" is fourth in the standings with 60 points.
