Italy national team head coach Luciano Spalletti has announced his dismissal. Sport24.az reports that the specialist made this statement while answering questions from journalists.
Spalletti emphasized that the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, conveyed the news to him: "We spoke last night, and he told me that I would be relieved of my duties as the national team coach. I am very sorry, but I will not give up. I would especially prefer to stay and do my job when things are going badly. But this is a dismissal, and I must accept it. I have always served my country."
It should be noted that the 66-year-old specialist is reportedly leaving his post on June 9 after the match against Moldova in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. He has been leading the Italian team since September 2023.
