Liverpool forward Federico Kyeza has stated that he is ready to take on the role of leading player against the backdrop of a long losing streak under Arne Slot.
According to Idman.Biz, the current English champion has lost in four consecutive matches, which casts doubt on their title defense.
After the defeat to Manchester United, captain Virgil van Dijk even held a meeting with the players to revive the team.
"After the game with Brentford (2:3), no one spoke - everyone understood that the situation was difficult. Sometimes it is better to be silent and think about how we can improve. We need to work harder and not look for someone to blame. The main thing is that we do everything we can to win," said Kyeza.
The Italian player emphasized that he is proud of the fans' support and said that he is ready to take on leadership responsibilities: "It is an honor to play for Liverpool. I am 28 years old and I can help the team with my experience. We have young players like Virts, but I want to be an example on the field."
Kyeza, who missed 14 games last season due to injury, is already making progress in the current Premier League season. He admitted that he now feels stronger physically and mentally: "I wasn't in my best form last year, but now I feel confident again. My goal is to help Liverpool get back to the top and win trophies again."
Liverpool will face Crystal Palace in the League Cup in their next match.
