"Khankendi", the debutant of the Azerbaijan II League, aims to become the champion of the country.
The team's head coach, Ibrahim Uzunca, stated this in his statement to "Report".
The Turkish specialist, who extended his contract with the club yesterday, said that they have formed a good team:
"I am happy that my contract has been extended. Because there are big goals ahead. Last year we became the winner of the Region League. In the current season, we want to continue this in the II League and become champions. We have formed a team that can rise to the I League. We believe in the children, in our strength. While we are good, we only see ourselves as rivals. We also respect other rivals. We will have a serious fight with each of them on the field and we have enough strength for that."
He then emphasized that they will claim the Premier League:
"We have kept some players from last season's squad. We have endless faith that they will help us reach our goal. We have also invited players who will strengthen the squad. Our work continues at the highest level. We will do our best to get a ticket to the I League. We want to take the "Khankendi" team to the places it deserves. Then, if it is destined, we will aim to rise to the Premier League. We believe we can do it. We aim to introduce the name of "Khankendi" to all of Europe."
It should be noted that "Khankendi", the winner of the AFFA Region League, will play in the Azerbaijan II League in the 2025/2026 season.
