Brazilian midfielder Kazemiro has become one of the two oldest players to score for his country in the World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that this happened during the 1/16 final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Brazil and Japan.
The match ended 2:1 in favor of Brazil.
Kazemiro scored in the 56th minute of the match at the age of 34 years and 126 days. This put the midfielder in second place after striker Bebeto, who scored at the age of 34 years and 137 days. Other players in the top five by age include Thiago Silva (33 years and 278 days), Nilton Santos (33 years and 23 days), and Garrincha (32 years and 257 days).
