FIFA has announced a number of innovations to be implemented at the Club World Cup in 2025. According to Sport24.az, the tournament will be held in the USA and will start on June 14.
During the Mundial, referees will wear video cameras on their heads, recording the course of the match. The footage will be available to the official broadcaster of the tournament and will be used in live broadcasts. If the images from the referees' point of view are successful, this innovation will be applied at all major international tournaments.
In addition, fans will be able to watch live on stadium monitors what the referee sees at the moment when he watches the episode on the field. These images will be broadcast directly on giant screens, which will make it easier for fans to understand how decisions are made and increase the transparency of refereeing.
As previously reported, a modern semi-automatic offside technology will also be implemented, sending audible signals to assistant referees in obvious offside situations.
Another innovation is the use of tablets for substitutions. These tablets will replace traditional paper documents and manual data transfer. Before the game, each team will be provided with a tablet to manage substitution requests in digital format, which should simplify and speed up the substitution process.
