Hacker known as BobDaHacker claims to have breached the official FIFA World Cup website.
Sports.Biz reports that the user found a vulnerability on the portal and posted an article about it on his blog.
According to the hacker, he discovered an error in FIFA's internal systems, which gave him full access to the broadcast management panel. This allowed him to control live cameras and even modify match statistics and scores. BobDaHacker notes that if he hadn't discovered the vulnerability, scammers could have taken control of all broadcasts.
According to him, a single hacker could have taken control of all cameras and managed the entire FIFA World Cup at the same time.
The user also stated that after the error was published, FIFA itself removed it. However, none of the site owners contacted him or thanked him.
