Erling Haaland admitted on "The Rest Is Football" podcast that his father, Alf-Inge, had a very different vision for his future as a child.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the striker said: "His biggest dream was for me to be a professional golfer."
Therefore, Erling played golf every week from the age of 10 to 13 at his father's insistence. But it didn't end there. Alf-Inge believed that a child should be involved in various sports: skiing, tennis, handball.

"Versatility is important. No matter what you do, it is beneficial to develop different parts of the body," he explained.
As a result, Erling's path led him to football. And it worked out well: at 25, he became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goals in 111 games, happening faster than Shearer.
Sometimes parents plan one thing, but the child makes their own choice and then achieves it at a level that no one expected.
