Gennaro Gattuso will be appointed as the head coach of the Italian national football team.
İdman.biz reports that negotiations between the 47-year-old specialist and the country's football federation have concluded.
He will replace Luciano Spalletti, who was dismissed a few days ago. A 1+1 year contract will be signed between the parties. The term of the agreement will be extended if the Italian national team qualifies for the final stage of the World Cup. Veteran football players such as Leandro Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli will be included in Gennaro's coaching staff.
It should be noted that Gattuso was dismissed from the post of head coach of "Hajduk" on June 5. The team finished the Croatian championship in 3rd place under his leadership.
