Representatives of 55 countries won medals at the Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
Idman.biz reports that Austria, Colombia, Mexico and Mongolia shared the last places in the medal table – each of these countries won only one bronze medal.
The Azerbaijani team took 24th place in the competition, winning two gold and two silver medals. The rhythmic gymnastics group exercise team – Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Agalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamila Aliyeva and Elizaveta Luzan won two competitions and came second once. The other silver medal was won by judoka Eldjan Hajiyev (90 kg).
Japan (34 gold, 21 silver, 24 bronze) took first place in the medal standings, China second (30-27-17), and the USA third (28-27-29).
