"Garadagh Lokbatan" head coach assessed the championship chances

"Unfortunately, our fate is not in our hands. Our chances of winning the championship are almost gone. It doesn't seem realistic that "Khankendi" will lose points in the next two games." These words were said by Gazanfar Abbasov, the head coach of "Garadagh Lokbatan", in an interview with Sport24.az.

The experienced specialist assessed his team's chances of being promoted to the First League:

"We faced many difficulties during the season. Firstly, we lost our team's top scorer, Tofig Nasibov, due to injury. He could have helped us a lot in the matches held from January to this day. His injury disrupted our plans. Our goal from the beginning of the season is to qualify for the First League. Of course, I would very much like to achieve this as champions. That's how fate turned out. Whoever our opponent is in the play-off, we will try to bring the team back to the First League. Given the conditions created, "Garadagh Lokbatan" is a team worthy of playing in the First League. There are few clubs in the league with such a base and conditions. My contract with "Garadagh Lokbatan" expires at the end of May. After that, the management will decide. For now, I have a goal - to bring the team to the First League. Whether I will work after that is the next stage. I'm not thinking about it right now."

It should be noted that there are 2 rounds left until the end of the season in the Second League, and the leader "Khankendi" is 3 points ahead of Lokbatan in the tournament table.
