Former Galatasaray Footballer Detained

Former Galatasaray footballer Ümit Karan has been arrested. According to Sport24.az, he was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison for actions in his apartment in 2015 against a woman that, while not reaching the level of rape, involved behaviors without the other party's consent.

 

Although the former footballer appealed the decision in court, his appeal was rejected, and he was deprived of his freedom.
