Former football star David Beckham has been officially recognized as Britain's first billionaire athlete.
Lent.az reports that, according to The Independent, this happened after he and his wife, Lady Victoria, doubled their fortune in the last year.
It is reported that the total wealth of the famous couple is $1.505 billion. This is a huge increase from their estimated $635 million fortune in the 2025 list.
The family's financial rise is linked to the Beckhams' successful investments in the United States, especially Lionel Messi's signing with Inter Miami. Lady Victoria has also contributed to the family's wealth, with revenues from her eponymous fashion line exceeding $127 million.
However, this great increase coincided with a serious split within the family. According to media reports, the disclosure of the couple's wealth in this way took place against the background of a feud between the couple and their eldest son, Brooklyn.
The young man has openly expressed his views about his parents. In January, he made a lengthy post on social media accusing them of "trying to ruin their relationship forever even before they got married, and it never stopped."
He also claimed that the family "mistreated" his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz.
Apart from the Beckhams, the latest list of wealthy people brought many other surprises. For example, Oasis rock stars Liam and Noel Gallagher have joined the list thanks to their sold-out tours, earning $476 million. However, the tour was not without controversy due to the increase in ticket prices from $188 to $451.
Other famous names on the list include King Charles III ($864 million) and writer J.K. Rowling.
