Dani Alves wants to buy a Portuguese club and continue his football career there.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that former Barcelona and Brazil national team player Dani Alves, who was acquitted of sexual assault charges, intends to buy a third division Portuguese club and continue his playing career there.
In early January 2023, a woman filed a police report against Alves accusing him of sexual assault. The Brazilian footballer was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. In March 2024, the appellate division of the High Court of Catalonia unanimously overturned the sentence after he spent 405 days in prison. Alves' last club was Mexico's "Pumas", and the club terminated his contract in early 2023 following allegations of misconduct.
According to the source, Alves has agreed to buy the "San-Juan-de-Ver" club with the help of Brazilian investors and is considering the possibility of signing a contract to return to the field by June 2026.
42-year-old Alves won six Spanish championships, four Spanish Cups and Super Cups, and three Champions League titles with Barcelona. He also played for Sevilla, Juventus, PSG and Brazil's Bahia and Sao Paulo teams. In recent weeks, Alves has appeared in public in Spain as an evangelical pastor.
