Coy Lens Mikels: We will perform as a more experienced team in European Cups

Interview with Sabah's German forward Coy Lens Mikels on Sport24.az.

– What are your thoughts on the game?

– We are having a great season for our team. We deserved to be champions. We may not have expected to win so many victories. Every footballer's performance was very good.

– There are European Cup matches ahead. What are your expectations?

– It is difficult to perform on the European stage. Even the smallest mistake is not forgiven. Compared to previous years, this year we will perform as a more experienced team in European Cups.

– What was the decisive moment in the championship? Surely, the victories over "Qarabağ" gave the team special confidence...

– We cannot associate our championship only with the victories over "Qarabağ". During the season, we focused more on our own game. There is no special moment for that.

– Do you expect the next season to be more intense?

– The next season will start in August. There may be many changes in the teams. It is too early to talk about it now.

– Your contract expires in the summer. According to reports, you intend to sign a longer-term contract...

– I hope so. But you seem to know the terms of the contract better than I do (laughs).

– The opponent in the Cup is "Zira". Will you be able to make a "Golden Double"?

– I cannot say that we will win the Cup 100 percent. But I know for sure that one of the Mikels will win the Azerbaijan Cup (laughs).
