A commemorative coin has been released dedicated to Diego Maradona's famous second goal against England at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
Idman.Biz reports that the coin's release is part of FIFA's international commemorative coin program, both for the 40th anniversary of that historic episode and in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

The silver version is made of 925 silver, weighs 27 grams, and has a diameter of 40 millimeters. The coin's obverse features a ball, a symbol of football, while the reverse shows a schematic representation of the combination leading to Maradona's historic goal against England, as well as a face value of 10 pesos and the year of minting, 2025.

In addition, a gold coin weighing 6.75 grams and with a diameter of 23 millimeters has also been released. The gold version is intended only for the international collector's market and will not be sold within Argentina.
Maradona's goal is still considered one of the most memorable moments in football history, "the poetic pinnacle of football," and a symbolic heritage of world football.
