France national team head coach Didier Deschamps has announced the final list of 26 players for the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the French national team is considered one of the favorites of the tournament. The "Tricolors" became world champions in 2018 and reached the final of the 2022 World Cup, where they lost to Argentina.
The biggest surprise in the squad is the absence of Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who was not included in the final list. Forward Randal Kolo Muani and goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier were also left out.
The full squad of the French national team for the WC-2026 is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Mike Maignan, Brice Samba, Robin Risser;
Defenders: Jules Kounde, William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano, Malo Gusto, Ibrahima Konate, Theo Hernandez, Lucas Hernandez, Maxence Lacroix;
Midfielders: Aurelien Tchouameni, Adrien Rabiot, Manu Kone, Warren Zaire-Emery, N'Golo Kante;
Forwards: Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Michael Olise, Rayan Cherki, Maghnes Akliouche, Marcus Thuram, Bradley Barcola, Jean-Philippe Mateta.
France will compete in Group I with Senegal, Iraq, and Norway.
The team will begin preparations for the World Cup on May 28. Before the tournament, the French will play two friendly matches - against Côte d'Ivoire and Northern Ireland. Their World Cup debut will be against Senegal on June 16.
