Lisbon's "Benfica" is preparing for the possible departure of head coach Jose Mourinho and is looking for a replacement for him.
Idman.Biz reports, citing journalist and insider Nicolo Schira, that the club is considering Fulham head coach Marco Silva as a primary candidate.
Mourinho's negotiations with the Real Madrid leadership are in an advanced stage, which forces Benfica to urgently look for a new head coach. Silva's contract with Fulham expires at the end of the season and will not be renewed, which increases Benfica's chances of transferring him.
The media has repeatedly noted that Silva is in demand by several leading clubs. He is also one of the contenders for the Chelsea head coach position, which has yet to find a replacement for the departed Liam Rosenior.
