"Barcelona" announced on its official website that it has filed a complaint with UEFA regarding the referee and VAR decisions in the Champions League quarter-final match against "Atletico Madrid".
Idman.Biz reports that the match ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the Madrid club.
"Today, the club's legal department submitted a formal complaint to UEFA regarding the events that occurred in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid. The club believes that the refereeing violated existing rules and that this directly affected the course and outcome of the match.
The complaint relates to a specific incident. In the 54th minute of the match, after the game was properly restarted, an opposing player touched the ball with his hand in the penalty area, but a corresponding penalty was not awarded. "Barcelona" believes that this decision, coupled with the serious inaction of VAR, is a serious mistake. In this regard, the club demands that an investigation be carried out, access be provided to the referees' conversations, and, if necessary, that the errors be officially recognized and appropriate measures be taken.
Similarly, "Barcelona" believes that the ambiguous decisions of referees in recent Champions League seasons have caused serious damage to the team, created obvious inequality, and deprived it of the opportunity to compete on equal terms with other clubs," the "blaugrana" statement said.
