The Azerbaijan Sports Academy has joined an international project aimed at preventing injuries among female football players.
According to "Report", the initiative, supported by UEFA and the UEFA Academy, covers Central and Eastern European countries.
The head of the project is Paulina Kloskovska, a lecturer at King's College London and on the ASA's "Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation" master's program for doctors. The coordinators of the project by the Academy are Zarifa Kamilova, Advisor to the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Academy, and Rauf Aliyev, Manager of the Sports Medical Research Laboratory.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Polish Football Federation and aims to develop scientific approaches tailored to local needs in the prevention of injuries in women's football.
In addition to Azerbaijan, the initiative involves the football federations of Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, and Slovenia. The project's observation and advisory board includes internationally renowned experts in the field of sports sciences – Kay Crossley, Joanne Kemp, Andrea Bruder, and Brooke Patterson.
The selection of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy as a partner in the project is considered an indicator of the country's sports education being recognized internationally and its contribution to the development of women's sports.
Within the framework of the project, preliminary results and research materials will be presented to the public in the coming months.
