"I believe that we will put up a good fight in the meetings with both Portugal and Bulgaria". Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Aykhan Abbasov, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team consisting of football players under 21, in his statement to the AFFA press service.
He expressed his opinion about the game against the Portuguese national team in the qualifying round of the European Championship: "The game against Portugal will be our first official match. We will face Portugal away, and then Bulgaria at home. Our first opponent, Portugal, is a very strong team. They currently have 9 players from the U-21 team that participated in the last European Championship. They have players playing in big clubs. But we are also preparing well for the match. Facing such big opponents is important for the future of our players. I believe that we will put up a good fight in the meetings with both Portugal and Bulgaria".
It should be noted that the Portugal-Azerbaijan match, which will be held on September 5 at the Barcelos city stadium, will start at 22:30 Baku time.
