Arne Slot has shared his thoughts on Liverpool's upcoming schedule after today's Champions League draw. According to Sport24.az, the Liverpool head coach, in a statement to the club's press service, made interesting comments about their Champions League group stage opponents: Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, PSV Eindhoven, Marseille, Qarabag, and Galatasaray:
"First of all, I must say that, as in the previous season, this is a very difficult draw. But we expected it, because there are no easy opponents in the Champions League, especially in the new format. But what is clear is that this draw is also very exciting.
It is a special event to welcome Real Madrid again at Anfield. Last season's game was unforgettable, and I expect this one to be as well. It will be a match that the whole world will watch. Personally, it's nice to play against PSV. They have been champions twice in a row. The same applies to Galatasaray, who have been champions three seasons in a row in Turkey, and Qarabag, the champion of Azerbaijan.
Also, facing teams like Inter, Atletico, Eintracht, and Marseille shows the strength of this tournament.
No game will be easy, that's clear. But I am sure that our fans are looking forward to the games at Anfield and the away games that will be played in big arenas, in front of fanatic fans."
