Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot spoke optimistically about the return match against PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals after the first game (0:2).
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the Liverpool Echo that the Dutch specialist emphasized that anything can change in football at any moment. He said that the home ground factor would play a decisive role.
"Of course, there is hope for the return game. I have proven many times that anything is possible in football. Red cards, unexpected events, penalties… And don't forget that Anfield can do a lot. If we are facing a team like PSG, we need our fans more than ever. Looking at the overall picture of the game, we are lucky to have lost only 2:0, but there is still the 'Anfield' test ahead," Slot said.
Team captain Virgil van Dijk also shared the head coach's views. Although the experienced defender admitted the opponent's strength, he did not hide that they rely on fan support:
"We must not forget that we are playing against the last European champion. I hope our fans will play a big role in the return match. I have witnessed many special games at Anfield. Fans are the backbone of this club".
